High Touch manager one of 15 to earn new worldwide technology services certification

May 15, 2009

Trevor Henke, manager of the Managed Services division of High Touch, Inc., is one of 15 technology professionals to earn a newly minted certification by the MSP Alliance, the International Association of Managed Service Providers. Henke recently returned from the MSP World Conference in Orlando with 175 technology professionals in attendance where the new certification examination was introduced.

The CMSP (Certified Managed Services Professional) is the first program of its kind, specifically designed to ensure that individuals employed in the Managed Services industry are meeting and exceeding the highest levels of ethics, education, work experience, as well as possessing a strong combination of both business and technical requirements. “The MSP Alliance Certified Managed Services Professional exam is a rigorous text that benchmarks and verifies the quality of the individual providing managed services,” said Charles Weaver, MSP Alliance president. “We are very proud to have Trevor Henke as a part of this prestigious body of managed services professionals.”

Managed Services is described as an outsourced IT function in which a technology vendor supports a client’s computer hardware, software, data management, network security, server security and other related needs. CMSP was created using a wide base of criteria that encompasses many disciplines in the managed service profession. Individuals are required to pass a written exam, possess a minimum of IT-related work experience and/or education, as well as have a strong understanding of the Managed Services Provider’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.

Kevin Colborn, High Touch Director of Information Technology & Managed Services, noted that the certification is part of High Touch’s client support initiatives. “The MSP certification enables High Touch to achieve a recognized standard of service for our customers and create more efficient business practices for them,” said Colborn. “We are proud that Trevor is among the first to achieve this industry standard.”

High Touch, Inc. is an employee-owned company that provides technology solutions to small and mid-size businesses.
