DID YOU KNOW?
The name ‘High Touch’ came from the #1 New York Times Bestseller “Megatrends” written by John Naisbitt. “Megatrends” was written based on predictions for tomorrow based on a dynamic analysis of what America is today; and proved to be true in anticipating major shifts for the world.
High Touch, Inc. hosts business open house for downtown neighbors and associates
June 5, 2008
Approximately 250 downtown neighbors, clients and associates were invited to a reception from 4-6 p.m. today at the new 110 S. Main offices of High Touch, Inc., a Wichita-based provider of technology solutions. Wayne Chambers, High Touch CEO/president, noted that the company’s first six weeks in the new building were marked with positive changes and a few challenges.
“Being spread over four floors has been a bit of an adjustment, but the benefits have been great,” said Chambers. “The new space has given us new efficiencies, and the move was completed two weeks before the Wichita River Festival so we enjoyed having the Food Court right outside the door.” High Touch employees received a Festival button and food court tickets at move-in.
Approximately 100 guests from the Wichita Metro Chamber, City of Wichita, and the downtown business community are expected to attend today’s open house, which will include hors d’oeuvres, wine/beer, and live classical guitar music. Guests will have the opportunity to tour the 6th floor, which includes a reception area, sales and Managed Services, which provides outsourced IT for small and mid-sized businesses; and the 9th floor which includes executive offices.
Chambers commented that the reception is an effort to introduce on High Touch’s part to introduce themselves to their downtown neighbors. “We are a 24-year-old company and this is the second relocation in our history. We expect to be here a long time, and with the progress of Waterwalk and the Downtown Arena, we hope to grow with the area.” High Touch’s lease includes four floors of the 10-story building, designating them as the building anchor and giving them naming rights.
The company’s logo and name will be displayed on the building’s 10th floor in a 2-color, illuminated signage. Renovations began in December 2007 for the 35,000 square foot space on floors 6 through 9, and High Touch completed its move in late April. Hutton Construction was the renovation contractor and Dave White of Howard & Helmer was the architect. High Touch also moved into a new 27,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center in December at 818 E. Orme.
