HIGH TOUCH, INC., SIGNS LEASE FOR DOWNTOWN RELOCATION - November 13, 2007
(WICHITA, KS) – High Touch, Inc., a Wichita-based provider of technology solutions, finalized a lease today to move a 100+-person staff of its Wichita corporate headquarters to a 10-story building located at 110 S. Main in Downtown Wichita. Wayne Chambers, High Touch CEO, said preparations will begin immediately as renovations begin and the company prepares to relocate from its current offices at 21st and Amidon.
“Our decision to relocate downtown is a vote of confidence for Wichita’s core,” said Chambers. “With the ongoing development of the Waterwalk, Old Town, Delano and the Arena, we believe Downtown Wichita is on its way to becoming a vital and progressive environment for business, culture and living.” The lease was brokered by Marlin Penner and Lowell Richardson, NAI John T. Arnold Associates, Inc.
Renovations will begin in December and a spring relocation is anticipated, according to High Touch Director of Corporate Technology and Facilities Kevin Colborn, Colborn noted the company will move from 30,000 square feet into approximately 35,000 square feet on four floors of the 110 S. Main building. Other tenants include Goodwill Industries; Koker, Goodwin & Associates; WAY-FM Media Group; Go.edu; and CCM Enterprises. As the anchor tenant, High Touch will have naming rights on the 110 S. Main building.
Penner noted that the move will likely create a ripple effect as businesses anticipate downtown growth. “It is a wonderful thing when you have a company of this quality willing to make a long-term commitment to the downtown area,” he said. “This is a class of employees who are professional and technologically advanced. We believe this type of tenant will attract others of a similar stature.”
Chambers added, “It is our expectation that Downtown Wichita will evolve dramatically over the next several years and once again be a great place to work, live, shop and experience the culture of our city. As a homegrown Wichita business, we are proud to make this commitment to downtown growth.” Renovation is expected to begin in December, with projected move-in of spring 2008. Dave White of Howard & Helmer is the architect. Hutton Construction is the renovation contractor.
In addition, approximately 27,000 square feet of Distribution Center space has been leased at 818 Orme. This space is currently under reconstruction, and is scheduled for December move-in. The Distribution Center lease was brokered by Marlin Penner and Lowell Richardson, NAI John T. Arnold Associates, Inc.
