Critical thinking and attention to detail, with a foundation of mathematics, physics, design and production: These are the elements of a successful R&D function. They are also the credentials of Terry Newlin, a degreed electrical engineer, director of High Touch client development. Much of Terry’s day is spent creating new software features, such as the sales and marketing tool which helps businesses manage data files and ultimately, generate marketing campaigns based on extensive criteria. Terry’s direction also resulted in the development of an online payment function designed to interact directly with customer point-of-sale software.
Terry’s steadfastness has been characteristic, earning him the respect of employees and managers from his post-graduation years at Boeing where he began his career. Five and a half years as an electrical engineer prepared him for the rigors of technology, eventually following former manager to High Touch in 1992.
When there is a problem to solve, Terry diligently works to craft a solution that benefits the client and High Touch. Whether he’s brainstorming an enhancement to existing software or helping mold a new product to fully wrap around a customer’s needs, Terry always has a pulse on the future.
Terry takes pride in well-written code that generates results. But for him, the reward really comes when the code turns into a turnkey, easy-to-use resource that helps a customer’s business thrive.
“We’re always moving forward. It’s our job to walk alongside customers, providing them tools to streamline their technology functions.”
